It's just around the Corner!

I can't believe it! Just one year ago, almost to the day, a bunch of girls were out celebrating Kelly Goeden's birthday. We were dreading the upcoming season. Summer was coming to an end. And a beautiful Fall was nearing. Yes, I love fall - the colors, the freshness of the air, the crisp cool nights... BUT it also is the season of hunting. The season where I and the rest of the girls I know are literally left behind for several months while our husbands go out for hours at a time to "gather". Their minds are elsewhere. I'll give you a great example and maybe those of you who don't know me might be finding out a bit too much right off the bat but here goes...not too long ago, my husband and I were in our bedroom. I was putting away some clothes. He was just hanging out. He looked over at me with "the look". I knew what he wanted and for some reason was going to give in when all of a sudden out of the corner of his eye he saw something out our window. "Oh look! A deer! Wow, nice size...I wonder were it is headed...oh, man I think he is going across the street to Geidels. I should call Jeff to let him know. He has fixed up some of his land..." THAT WAS IT! As easy as that...for a man to actually walk away from what may have been one of his easiest chances to have sex since our children have come along and all it took was this deer trotting past our window. Hmmmm...Maybe I should purchase one of those statue deer that I can strategically place outside our window every so often!
Well, anyway! Back to what really matters here. The girls came up with a great idea. We hunt. Girls hunt too. And yes, that can be taken literally but I mean we are good hunters in another sense. SHOES! What girl doesn't like LOVE a new pair of shoes. So that is what we decided. The girls should get together and go hunt for that perfect pair of shoes... And then show them off at a party...But the party should be for charity. NO you don't give your shoes to charity. You wear your shoes and bring some money to get into the party. The Charity being Chix for a Cause. The party being at Imagine Coffee House. It snowed like crazy last year but the turnout was still great. This year we are doing it again!
I wanted to get the blogspot going. I'm going to blog throughout this season so I hope you check here often. I love to write and this is a great outlet for me. I will be continually updated the blog as I learn how. If you wish to goto last year's blog check it out at www.dnrshoes7463-911.blogspot.com. As you can see, the name was lengthy, I wanted to simplify as I do with many things in my life.
I am so excited to share this experience with you. I hope you find it as rewarding and amazing as I do. I guess that's what a hunter's life is all about!
